Pokemon peaked in Gold and Silver flow-wise, and HeartGold and SoulSilver gameplay-wise.
X & Y were a farewell to the series, giving odes to the prior games and salutes to the players. To any lifelong fan of the series, it felt like a "goodbye", and the series should have ended with it.
I tried Sun/Moon... But they lagged. A single-player game that can pre-load several megabytes of data does not ever have an excuse to lag. Whether you're Squarenix with FFT for the PSP, or GameFreak with SunMoon, it doesn't matter how big your name is, if it lags, bring it back into development and fix that shit. Pokemon Sun and Moon have singular attack animations with bigger file sizes than the entirety of Pokemon Red, they're saying there's NOTHING they could do to fix that? NO optimization possible? No pre-loading or streamlining?
They're also not building all assets from scratch. There is work involved when switching platforms, but Pokemon doesn't involve very complex graphical fidelity.
Granted, I don't give a shit about the brand outside of Red/Blue, so I'm happy with faggots eagerly swallowing the yearly half-baked shit GameFreak pumps out.
One of the worst subreddits I have ever been on was the Nintendo Switch Subreddit. Now, I’ve been a casual Nintendo fan since I was a wee lad, growing up with a GBA and a GameCube. I have a switch and I really do like it, some of the first party games are phenomenal. However, that sub reeks of soy and Nintendo of America’s wokeness. I honestly only used it for gaming news, but every third was “DaE CelEsTe hIddEn GeM!?” Or some other stupid shit about how “Nintendo is our friend! Emulators are bad”
Or when Nintendo announced that 3D All-Stars was gonna be a limited run game, fanboys were saying that “anyone who disagrees with this decision is aTtACkinG Me!”

It's not like they have made much else, Drill Dozer was a fine game though, Harmoknight was okay too?
