If @Roman_Baber had sent this letter from St Barts he would still be in caucus. This is how @fordnation rolls, if he likes you, you stay, if not your out. Just ask @RodPhillips01 #onpoli #NoMoreLockdowns
Unbelievable. It was such a thoughtful, constructive letter, written in the public interest. Friendly and respectful. Doug Ford will not allow any other opinions — even though his own course of action has been such a disaster. Ford cannot handle criticism. He’s a small man.
Here’s the oafish response by Doug Ford. He accuses @Roman_Baber of misinformation, but doesn’t cite a single error (whereas Baber’s letter was meticulously footnoted).
He also accused Roman of putting himself 1st, but how is going against the established narrative out of concern of his constituents doing that?? As an elected official Roman doesn't have to worry about his job being taken away.
The right will look at, for example Biden, and say that "Biden from year X would be considered right wing today", which is true, but the flip side of that which we don't like to look at is most people on the "right" if sent back to year X would be a radical. Can you imagine a conservative arguing against bussing today? As an example if I say in a conservative crowd that women don't belong in the military anywhere at all whatsoever I'll certainly be more tolerated than if I said it in a lefty crowd but I'd be almost universally disagreed with, and that's probably the least controversial thing you could say.
You'd have to go back pretty far to get "not in the military anywhere" levels. Female comfort staff existed in the military even back in the early middle ages.
I was going to add "except on a USO stage" but that's not really "in the military" and that just gets into the weeds of when female support staff is appropriate.
Just for context, with Doug Ford we thought we were getting Julian from trailer park Boys, and he turned out to be fuckin randy.
The media billed him as "Canada's Trump", instead he's Canada's Boris (who was ironically billed as "UK's Trump")
