I lost all respect for government officials long ago, but certainly if I had any left I would have lost it today in part due to this.
Also due to seeing them cower with their silly plastic bag masks

For some reason it's triggering a primal desire to commit violence in me.
That is the primitive part of your brain realizing that your "leaders" -- who are supposed to be the alphas of the pack -- aren't worthy of the title.
That is the natural response to seeing weakness, particularly in those who are supposed to be your leaders. It is healthy to depose them and install strong leaders who will bring prosperity and safety to the community.
