No the turning point was Clinton.

Things steadily degraded with Bush but massively accelerated under Obama (The takeover of institutions was completed with Obama). Trump was a setback, sure, but ultimately he changed nothing and 2018 was just resumption of the previous decline. Now they have enough power to be flaunt it.

If the entire extended family is "child's parent", the worse of them can give consent to pump your kids with puberty blockers.
