I'm honestly confused, I can't see a way for weight-loss goal to be offensive. I can usually spot their mental gymnastics but I can't figure this one out.
Not looking at any other parts of this outrage, the only thing I can think of is that the mere act of suggesting a woman might want to lose weight is reinforcing misogynistic beauty ideals.
yeah thats pretty much it in a nutshell im surprised people here didn't know this they have been complaining about this for a while(with all the "we need more diverse body types in media " and "its enforcing harmful beauty standards and expecting people-especially girls- to be skinny is enforcing harmful beauty standards making them feel insecure about themselves and makes them develop eating disorders like starving themselves etc. etc",) they have been whining like this for a while.

While at the same time, accusing a normal North American of being "fat" because he weighs more than a biafran famine dude.
