Here's the thing - ALL of Trump's successes in the last 4 years happened in spite of all common knowledge about how politics worked and/or everybody gunning for him.
I thought for SURE that Jeb Jeb was going to commandeer part of Trump's messaging about restricting illegal immigration which was resonating with the base and made perfect sense that we brought in so many immigrants and refugees that it lowered wages for the minorities and poor born in the US. But Jeb Jeb not only didn't do that (with millions of dollars and "top men" on his campaign) but actively supported MORE illegal immigration all the while Trump's polling on that issue increased.
Then the whole scandal about the "grab 'em by the pussy" which would've clobbered any Republican (but never a Democrat)
And I still felt the election was rigged going into 2016.
Then you have all of Trump's wins in spite of both the GOP and the DNC and active (and treasonous) obstruction of his Presidency.
It defies all logic that the entrenched statesmen (so-called) couldn't just use BASIC POLITICAL MANEUVERS AND DIPLOMACY to either commandeer some of Trump's blue collar issues (on the DNC side - which was suddenly anti-American Union protectionism) or the nationalist issues (on the RNC side which was suddenly anti-American CORPORATION protectionism!)
Both parties went thermonuclear immediately - showing that they're both children and both have no true leadership capabilities and CERTAINLY not statesman!.
Then we have this year - where state governors and leaders have actively supported insurrectionist domestic terrorism and refused to prosecute it while their actual working citizens are terrified and burned out of businesses - meanwhile the GOP still tries to play centrist.
And... here we are at the precipice.
Trump seems to live up to his name and manages to play the "Trump card" time and time again. The problem is, I don't see a "safe" course for his win - he either pulls a Thomas Jefferson and has Pence toss the DNC electors or declares the insurrection act (There may be other avenues I'm not privy to but it appears the courts don't actually CARE about election integrity) and the US will be thrown into even more turmoil.
OTOH - Letting Biden gain the Presidency and Obama a "third term" is a sure disaster for America along with tactily approving BLM and all the marxist actions of the past 6 months.
Do I want Trump to win? Hell yes.
Do I want Trump to pull the trigger and possibly tear the US apart? Grudgingly, yes - but the DNC and, directly, Obama have already torn this country apart.
I fear for the US either way.
I believe in the Republic.
I believe in the Constitution
I believe in the United States of America and the flag for which it stands - one nation, under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for ALL.
Convinced? No.
Hopeful? Yes.
