Parents are oppressive. It's called parenting. I didn't get everything I wanted as a kid and the nice things I did get were usually spread around special occasions or earning money from work. I don't mean getting paid to clean my room either, I was expected to do that for free. If I wanted an odd job for money from my parents, it was going to suck and gain me very little money.
Something must have worked out at least somewhat right. I'm alive, not in prison, not a drug addict, paid for my own education (no loan BS), haven't taken a dime of money from family since I was about 18-19 and haven't lived in their house since I was 22. I guess that's the product of tyranny. Just think I could be getting near 40 and instead of the horrible burden of being better off than they are I could inhabit their basement. Wow, what have I done wrong?
