I decided to go ahead and play it since I have it and all and usually things that the people who have to count every frame and do resolution analysis on every texture go way beyond what I care about anyway.
I'm going to struggle making a political analysis of this game though at least it seems that way so far. I'm just not enough up on the subject matter to pick out the difference between true to the story and pushing an agenda. I wouldn't be mad about a "1984" for pushing a woke agenda for being like the book after all. In a couple hours so far I'd say it's a leftist paradise simulator. But then again is that not the Cyberpunk subject matter?
Outside of that, genitalia doesn't really rule my life so the character creator didn't bother me I made a normal white dude. I didn't go review tit sizing or penises because I just don't care. I am disappointed that I couldn't shoot someone's cat though. Considering I could shoot the owner of the cat I should be able to shoot the cat.
Leftist paradise simulator in the sense that the city is a dysfunctional mess, sure. Citizens could call the police or not, most live in squalid conditions, legitimate healthcare is only for the wealthy, and you can loot at least 3 types of dildos just finding them out on the sidewalk.
If they wanted to go all the way, they would keep the guns in the game but remove the legal gun stores.
Yeah, I suppose I meant leftist paradise simulator in the way of not the magic utopia they think they are getting, but the real world they are actually going to get. That therein may be part of the problem in that the ones that support their new world have no ability to see this is what they get anyway. I've only played three hours or so, and so far I would not say the world has been presented as a nice place to live. I could see some pink haired freak man-woman it-person thinking it would be a great place to live though.
I was quite surprised to see the gun shop large and brightly presented as the "2nd Amendment" store. I figured for sure you'd have to procure weapons from a trunk of a car in an alley.
