The story as I've read it appears to be Portland PD arrived at a guy's house to serve some eviction warrant (which itself is a result of intense lockdowns which don't allow people to really work under Dem. mayors and govs, but one thing at a time). Residents and activists formed a mob and pushed the police out and now a mixed group of Antifa, BLM, and residents started building barricades, declared themselves an autonomous zone, and allegedly have been stockpiling arms (don't know if that means bricks and bottles or firearms) and threatening cops.
The thing with the eviction is that the family tried to appeal for the special rent agreement that gave struggling people a free pass on rent this year due to lockdowns, but they were denied because they were struggling to pay before Covid. So the eviction was legal and valid and Covid can't be to blame for their situation if they weren't paying before. They also had like 80 eviction notices.
Saw that they haven't paid rent since 2018, two fucking years.
I can have sympathy but this is a bit ridiculous.
Yeah. Plus, the move by the soys makes no sense. They're trying to raise money to buy the house, but what then? If the family couldn't pay bills before, how do you expect them to pay bills afterward?
While property taxes would theoretically be cheaper, if something goes wrong with the property then it may go downhill if they lack the funds to deal with it.
I've seen pics on twitter of them piling molotovs all over the place. They don't have much concern for safe handling and storage of munitions.
Antifa's handling of guns and explosives is right up there with the Afghans I've seen. Inshallah
The safety caps on RPGs are just for show. Throw them away immediately.
