Now I’m only on Book 12 but the more I read about the show the more I’m content to just finish the book series and let that be it. They are summarizing it as a book about Moraine. Now she is an important character but it’s about Rand. Also the show runner took questions and one “fan” asked about lgbt representation and he said he will make sure to have that because it’s important.
An annoyance of mine in nerd culture are people who have to see themselves represented in everything. In my opinion they aren’t real fans. A well written character can appeal to all types of people. I’m a black male and since childhood my two favorite comic book characters have been Spider-Man and Superman. I like them because they are idealistic and try to see the good in everyone which is something I strive for.
I’ll say it again people who have to be represented or see themselves in everything aren’t real fans and some people make up a small percentage of the population so it’s very unrealistic to be represented in everything.
Are there any new shows that aren't infected with SocJus? I don't even bother looking because I'm sure it's a lost cause.
Not really. The SocJus problem is deeply entrenched in the entertainment industry (why else Gamergate started?) and will need great effort to root it out.
I am content with burning it all down and starting from scratch with strict gatekeeping.
Well for the most part I just watch and read stuff from 2014 and prior but some examples of good modern shows are Yellowstone, Better Call Saul, Last Man Standing, and Blue Bloods
