Same thing in Québec. Unions were largely successfull in promoting this "equity" of artificially inflating the salary of jobs because women do those jobs, rather than tell women to pursue higher-paying jobs where there is a shortage. ( for some reason tough jobs on low wages done by men are nowhere on those equity lists, lol )
Companies are so used to the government managing everything for them they don't seem to bother raising pay to draw more workforce either.
They just demand the government floods the place with more mass-migration that would hypothetically accept those jobs for minimum wage... except woops, those jobs cannot compete with wellfare benefits. Go figure.
