i used to be a former leftie so i still follow a few leftie channels that i used to even if i no longer agree with them but this one in particular pissed me off. There is an old channel i used to watch and i happen to watch another video of his, And one of the things he says over the fact that lots of republicans think that trump was the one who actually won(i personally dont know but there is no doubt that there was massive election fraud anyways), is that republicans or right wingers love authority and are just blindly following whatever trump says of whatever (ignoring that we have zero support from mainstream media or any institutions and most of why we believe what we do is because of the amount of evidence for election fraud) and that these people probably align with the people who believe evolution isnt real.
This guy truly doesnt know anything about the right at all. And from my observation the right respects hierarchy but the left is the one that loves authoritarianism . . They will never really criticize or say anything about that that is ACTUALLY authoritarian like china or Islam and they are the types that attack people when they smell weakness but back down when they recognize the target is too strong for them , right wingers do not behave like this and are not cowards the way the left is.
We do not support authoritarianism just cause we believe in hierarchies(in the sense that we don't obsess over the "all things must be 100% "equal"" nonsense which btw there is no such thing and when things are 100% "equal" in outcome it means that there is no freedom and there is full authoritarianism involved )., but he wants to accuse us of loving authoritarianism after he spoke in defense of china and marxists before?
You have just touched on two very Important rules of leftists/progressives/liberals.
First, leftists/progressives/liberals don't understand the other side. Not saying that right/repubs/conservatives always get this right or frame their opponents correctly but the left genuinely cannot understand the arguments and thought process of the right.
Second, leftists/progressives/liberals always project. If you want to know what they're up to, look at what they are accusing others of. Colluding with foreign powers? Refusing to accept the outcome of the election? Eroding the foundation of the republic? Which side does that sound like? Which side have we heard non-stop is guilty of these things in the narrative for the last 4 years?
Abortion will always be the primest example of this. Its usually split on party lines.
The Pro-Life people understand Pro-Choice. They know pro-choice people put the woman's comfort and ease of life above the baby and that's the foundation of their position.
The Pro-Choice people do not understand it at all. Pro-life think that its a baby in there, and you are literally committing murder as an alternative to difficulty in life. As the Pro-Choice people cannot fathom this idea, they have invented a baseless narrative of "controlling women's bodies" when nothing in the Pro-Life side remotely has to do with women's bodies, only saving lives.
This applies to most party split issues.
I'm starting to believe that it's a deliberate tactic. Pretend you don't understand your opposition's argument, and you never lose an argument. Instead, you can focus on outreach and indoctrination.
Its both. There are a lot of right wing world views and right wing thought processes that leftists honestly cannot understand (like what happened in my original post) and there are some that they can but they deliberately pretend not to and try to gaslight it to a different thing altogether.
On the topic of pro choice and pro life, i *think * that one is more a case of deliberately pretending not to understand pro-life people (Because they disagree that its a baby or don't care) and instead of arguing on that topic they deliberately turn it in to a argument about "controlling woman's bodies" for the reason you stated.
