It reminds me of a joke from a show from years ago, but exactly what it was totally escapes me at the moment. I hope it comes to me at some point, or someone else remembers something like this in fiction/comedy too.
Well, in Canada they passed a law years ago that you can get in legal hot water just for knowing people who belong to ... certain vehicle enthusiast clubs. Even if you're not really aware they belong to one. This is just another step down that sort of slippery slope, as it doesn't seem to require membership in any sort of group ....
Either way, it still sucks, and wow, what a way to put a chill on journalistic freedom.
