It's not hypocritical. It's what any nation with an interest in self preservation would do. Europeans just got it backward, and started praising everyone else and criticizing ourselves. Make no mistake, we let that shit happen. Granted, that's largely by influence that was never earned, but altruism and empathy are highly exploitable. If we don't learn and adapt, that's on us.
