It's based on a comic from 2002 that managed to be way ahead of its time when it comes to progressive stupidity (I read the first issue, couldn't stomach any more). It should have been called "Y: The Last Male" because the main character is in no way a man.

What's funny is that even then it's not good enough for progressives -- they crapped all over it on Goodreads.
