There are a small handful of ppl at my work who have pronouns in their email sig. Perhaps not surprisingly, they’re all utterly useless employees.

I'm in MA, too. Sad thing is that I like it, or at least I did until all diversity of thought got overrun by our dipshit overlords in academia and tech around here. Anyway, I try not to talk about politics with people. It's not productive, and I think virtually everyone's opinion (other than my own) is stupid. The problem now is that everything has been made political. I can't get on a fucking zoom call at work without hearing a bunch of handwringing at the start of every meeting about how shameful the Jan 6 protests were, my company (which has zero moral high ground on any issue having to do with anything whatsoever) is issuing statements on the protests, my friends are grilling me about why I'm not more disturbed by what happened, blah blah blah.

This is why I hate the dipshits who insist that politics have to encroach on every single aspect of life. I like my friends because they're nice guys and are fun to drink with - not because I think they have a well thought-out, nuanced position on trade and immigration policy. All that shit just gets in the way of forming positive relationships with people. I guess that's probably a feature and not a bug, though.

I think they need some more reminders. It’s hilarious that for much of the summer you had the general public on edge due to racial unrest and burning / looting of businesses with a fair amount of (occasionally fatal) violence in a number of places, not a peep of disapproval from these clowns in Congress, but now all of a sudden the unwashed masses show up at their door, break a few windows and make them a little uneasy, and it’s aN iNsUrReCtIoN and a NaTiOnAl disgrace.

Fuck them. One small business owner is worth more than all the politicians in the world. It’s unfortunate that public perception is the exact opposite.

These guys need their cages rattled even more to get this through their skulls.

Didn't go far enough. Clearly the people who need to have their voice heard aren't going to be able to do that through conventional legal channels, so this was their chance to do it the unconventional way, and they...milled around for an hour in the Capitol and then left?

Fuck optics - as we're seeing, they were going to get smeared no matter what, so they should have gotten their money's worth and sent a real message. At a minimum they should have camped out there, chained themselves to shit, etc., to make the building unusable for the foreseeable future.
