From what I understand the officers followed MPD protocol, even the the holding him to the ground and for the length of time he was held. The entire situation is a complete farce and it blew up because out of context cell phone footage and "eye witness accounts" were taken as gospel truth. People wanted something like this to happen just for an excuse to riot and destroy this country.
Sony is notorious for this shit. They broke compatibility with bluetooth headsets with the PS4 for no good reason other than greed. The only system to offer true backwards compatibility is the PS2.
