I remember back in '15 when the left started saying this-or-that everyday object, gesture, innocent image, phrase, or even necessary part of a healthy diet was "alt-right". It was hilarious watching them scrape away at their free time, figuratively working overtime so they could put the extra cash in an envelope labelled "fuck you". Most of us were probably laughing, in fact, as we ignored the envelope and just took the money.

Now, recently, I have seen what appears to be some kind of psyop. People here are saying that if an individual uses certain words commonly used by the left, this is a sign that they themselves are also leftist. This in itself is a good observation and indeed, there exist many words used largely exclusively by the left, however, there is something about this that doesn't sit right with me, and it's that there is a solution.

When you see that all of your enemies communicate using very specific frequencies so the uninitiated cannot hear them, sure, it is a viable solution to tune in and see who does and does not belong there, but this is a very fragile solution as many will feign their leftism by also communicating at this frequency, using these words, without actually being a leftist. A much more viable solution that does not suffer from this issue is to broadcast on that frequency at so high a volume that it obliterates any chance of the left being able to communicate amongst themselves. Instead of denouncing these words, use them even more as you say normal right-wing stuff.

As an example, the word "problematic" is a famously unique "dog-whitsle" word employed by the left. "Problematic" has very intuitive meaning. Something that is problematic is called so because it creates problems. I believe all of us here can agree that the Left causes problems, and is thus by definition problematic.

Similarly, Toxic is another liberal catch-all, but all it really is (when used by the media) is an ad hominem attack on a person, which is how most people here would define toxic behaviour.

Start using their words. Drown out their communications. Don't let them win.

There's a lot of people here, and I would like to see a chatroom for the community to discuss mostly general and non-relevant topics.

The Matrix protocol is a good way to have a proper, encrypted, private community of people without sacrificing too much.

It's easy to sign up if you just wanna talk, but there's a lot more you can do for your privacy, like self-hosting or choosing a client that prioritizes security, or if you're more about lightwieght there's clients for you too, etc. etc.

It's incredibly customizable and very private by default, going up to probably the most private FOSS messaging protocol I have ever seen.

I, for one, am starting to become incredibly pessimistic about the current state of affairs. Everybody's shouting and only a small minority of people are actually listening, and these get called insane and driven out of the mainstream of politics. Whatever niche they then create becomes coopted by the mainstream until it becomes only another arm thereof, and the minority of those who listen who previously entirely comprised this newfangled community are ostracized out again. This has been happening consistently since like the 60's.

Is there any hope at all? Please gib whitepill this sadness is not good for me.

Luckily, my son is old enough to know his shit, but not all of us are lucky. If your child is below 14-ish in age, then PLEASE listen to their teachers as they talk and look over their shoulders. It'll take just a bit more effort, but it's your own child. There are a number of reasons for this.

-Wake-up call:

You will be surprised at what the teachers think they can get away with telling your child. There's more benign stuff like just leaving and not being there for 20% of the class, and then there's the real hard-hitter. Remember how they probably canceled a lot of the syllabus? It turns out, they also started the chapter on reproduction in humans a year early, at least. My child is in 10th grade, and they're supposed to start learning about the birds and the bees officially in 11th grade. Thankfully, my child was already aware, but if you want to protect your child from this stuff, then please do. God knows how much earlier they've placed the diddly-doo.

-It's hilarious and sad:

I would always tell my child not to laugh in the middle of class, even if the teacher couldn't hear him, as simply a reinforcement of respect. When I was sitting next to him today, I almost chuckled myself. The teachers, and even many fellow students, don't know the first thing about how to operate this stuff (My son assures me his classmates are likely lying to buy time, which is hilarious, but also sad). It is telling that even after half a bloody year of this stuff, the teachers can't even make sure their attendance system works.

-Bond with your child:

Even though he's "In class" "With friends" as is "his responsibility", it's you guys' house. Don't let him wear a uniform. Would you wear a uniform at home casually? Of course not. Similarly, sit with him (or her, if you have a daughter) and bond. Of course, don't interrupt the lecture, but be there. Your child should know that their parent is right here. You might laugh and call me sheltering, but it's been shown to fuck kids up when they don't have parental support like this. Lockdowns have curbed the virus, but have created an epidemic of suicides and depression. I would prefer my child not to be in the news as the newest victim of poorly-thought-out policy.

If Emmanuel Macron is not replaced with somebody more based, even if marginally, next Baguettelection, I will remove all norman-french and latin influence from my speaking of the English Language.

I just played Xonotic for the first time ever and now I'm interested. I like a game I can be sure isn't selling my data to China.

I would personally like an RTS, a game in whatever genre Stick Fight falls under, and sandboxes, although any genre is fine. I don't contribute code, but I'm pretty good at finding bugs, etc. and get a few laughs out of people on the forums with my jokes.

Games in early development preferable, mostly for the active community these tend to have, so I can share less formal work with them and join their Matrix.org room or something
