Neither outcome makes me trust the government at all. Either A) they were incompetent in their research of the virus and were pushing out details as fast as they could without properly understanding what they were proposing, only to reevaluate and start trying to backtrack and cover their incompetence, or B) they were still entirely incompetent, but because the Angry Cheeto with the baby hands said “I don’t like masks and I don’t think people need to close down,” the other side saw an opportunity to reel in power and started cracking down on lockdowns and mask mandates. Neither narrative makes me feel comfortable with their reasoning for any of this, nor does it make me feel confident in the vaccines. All of this should have been given to the private sector like how Trump had attempted from the start. The more I dig the more libertarian I get.
