I don't think IP is critical, because many people access from shared IPs. Cookies are indeed one way they track. I got back on by deleting all Reddit cookies, and then using a different browser I'd never used for Reddit before.

It's worse than that. The way it's phrased, it could be one anonymous source briefing three people.
A real test will come in June 2024. This year Pride month was too soon after the Bud Light fiasco for marketing departments to change course, but I expect less corporate pride next year.
