As per title, what multimedia have these helpful individuals and groups curated that you've enjoyed?

This can cover games, books, anime, manga, light novels, movies, or any hobby related item.

I've kept an eye on it, and there is enough interest to keep these going for now. Though, if someone else prefers to do them, feel free.

Questions:

  • What are you playing and on what platform(s)? Reviews?
  • Did you pick up anything based on the last thread?
  • Do you want recommendations? Genre(s)? Past enjoyed games?

This week's consoomer poll is about what type of materials we are currently, have already, or will be reading.

As per title, the mediums and subjects are up to choice: books, light novels, web novels, manga, comics, websites, etc.

Feel free to include as much detail as you wish, including any impressions if you care to share.

I've been planning to do this for a few weeks now, which is having weekly rotating topics about entertainment that we're consuming.

Having a weekly cadence is too much for a specific topic (i.e.games like Half-KIA has tried), but I imagine we can rotate stuff like anime, manga and games plus any other hobby since we're nerds of varying extent and it's fun to discuss these things.

This week: what movies, animes, or other videos have you watched recently or watching?

Communities like gaming, sports, etc. have been officially released:

I'll keep an eye on them, but I prefer smaller communities like this and even Half-KIA. On that note: what are you playing right now?

Stumbled across this CensoredGaming Twitter post about the game Waifu Uncovered: https://twitter.com/CensoredGaming_/status/1333560403809476610

The game, developed by One-Hand-Free Studios, is a shoot 'em up where the background contains an anime girl -- sorry, I mean waifu -- and you're tasked with shooting off all clothes.

It's available on Steam (reqiures login and allowance of adult content in account settings) and Nintendo Switch.

The physical release supports "censored, uncensored and fully uncensored" modes while the digital version do not include "fully uncensored" (and only censored in the Japanese version).

EastAsiaSoft is publishing the Switch version and they've been involved with a number of niche games like recent PS Vita ports.

Interesting business model if there's enough demand, with cartridges priced at $35 + shipping while digital distribution is $5 or under.

For the Switch a physical release is mandatory for full uncensorship as Nintendo won't support adult content on their digital platform.

It's a day old and already posted on relevant sites, but it's probably good to post here in case some haven't seen it:
https://twitter.com/galgun_official/status/1342395407708536833

Key points:

  1. Game was never planned for Sony
  2. Xbox version was cancelled at the last moment
  3. Reason was censorship

None of this surprises me nor, I imagine, most if not all of you, but it does run counter-narrative to some insane comments that I had seen before about how Microsoft would bizarrely turn a new leaf in order to court the Japanese market.

Also, I've never played Gal*Gun before but have had Gal*Gun 2 installed for over 2 years now. I'll probably give it a try in the mid future.
