Now they're complaining about how black people are like, in anime(and for some reason including piccolo and mr popo in the conversation even though they aren't even human as well as a "black guy" from One punch man who is actually a tanned Japanese) because of cause they are.

sorry i think i might have being a bit confusing with my wording so some people misunderstood. The guardian didn't say that per say, rather they are complaining about how anime shows black people, saying "it gets blackness wrong"

When I first saw Mr Popo (unedited), I didn't see "a black dude", I saw a genie.
And Piccolo is a perfect example of the difference between "masculine" and male. All Namekians are certainly masculine (from what was shown), but they reproduce by sporing, so they're neither male nor female. They're all a bunch of "its". Doesn't mean they're not people, though.
