Apparently, it's because it's based on the updated Japanese version, which among other things, also patched out Backwards Long Jumping.

Yes, Bowser is is known as king Koopa in Japan, so they removed the line with the western name, not because it sounded like "gay".

The only reason I still care about Nintendo at all, is to watch SimpleFlips spend 60 minutes trying to blj off an owl statue through Snowhead as Link, live on stream.

"Fixes" usually ruin something.
