I actually think that this was originally part of Nancy's plan. Impeach the president before the election, then stall the vote in the Senate. Put everything into winning the Senate elections, then vote to remove the president from office once you control the Senate.
I really think that was the original plan... but the progressives fucked it all up by demanding to do it as early as possible. Now the dems have blown their fucking load.
They weren't getting anywhere with Russia-gate. ... but they could have with COVID. It's one of the few places where the media genuinely hurt him. Same thing with the BLM insurrection. If they can get him to do something they think is illegal, they'll rush an impeachment vote, then try to seize the Senate, and then the election results for President won't matter.
Didn't you have that in the first 2 years of trump though?
Too many R incumbents are part of the political machine to let him get anything done that isn't a return to business as usual. (although that is obviously preferable to a dem win)
