That whole isolation drive and dish game came about due to rule changes and the way referees call fouls. I used to rant during the heyday of Jordan that if the offensive player initiates contact at all that there should not be a foul called. I also think that if the offensive player makes it impossible to defend a shot without making contact that should also be a no call (sticking out one leg on a fade away, made famous by Dirk Nowinski).
Don't even get me started on the constant travelling going on today, or switching/dragging pivot feet I see.
