Notice how they keep saying "restoring democratic ownership of companies", as if they were democratically owned before and somehow the evil capitalists stole these companies from the employees and are now hoarding them for themselves. Imagine being this delusional.
The truth is that none of these people are "working class", and none of them had anything to do with building the companies they work for.
My thoughts exactly, as I was composing a reply, before I gave up and Ctrl+W'd.
Why in the flaming fuck do you think you're entitled to a share in a company someone else worked to create?
The more I think about it, the angrier I get, so I just walk away.
Because they're entitled. This is a bunch of people who think that working for wages is oppression, unless it's under communism, I guess. To be fair, under communism, you're not really working for wages, though, are you?
They essentially want a system by which government would impound rich people's property and distribute it to everybody, repeat until nobody has anything, at which point they'll skip to another country and destroy that one as well.
The biggest lie of communists is that the workers own the company. They don't--the state does. And the workers aren't enfranchised in the state. Communism is effectively modern feudalism.
And that's why it's so popular with the demographic that it's popular with. They're not seeing themselves as serfs to the state - at the very least, they're reckoning on a barony.
Not that they'd get anything other than .22" of lead, of course.
Employees having shares in a company isn't always as great as it sounds. I seem to recall WestJet employee-shareholders got hit with holding a big-ass bag some years ago .....
It's kind of like belonging to a natural gas co-op. Sounds great, until you realize that it's being run by farmers and not gas people, and when a pipe breaks, they spread the cost amongst everyone's bill ...
