What a clusterfuck.
It can go either way quite easily as to whether or not lethal force was required in this case from what I've seen.
But, please, let me be explicitly clear. This, more than anything else, is a result of the criminal refusing to follow even the most simplistic of directions that were given to him from the officers. I wouldn't say he deserved to die, because I truly do believe life is a very precious thing that we've been gifted with, but I fail to see what he was expecting to happen.
He outright ignored their commands, and walked around to the driver side and tried to grab something inside his car. All while they had their guns aimed at him and yelling for him to stop. He seemingly didn't give a shit, and wanted to act tough in front of his hood rat friends.
I've heard people say they should have tazed or pepper sprayed, and if it were an option, I would agree, but after watching the video it seems it wasn't. It all happened rather quickly, but I don't see how people were expecting the officers to put their guns in the holster, secure it, remove a different method of control from their belts and then use it.
This could have all been avoided had the dude who was shot not acted like a fucking asshole and just listened. To me, everything after is a direct result of that.
You want black lives to matter? Teach them some common sense and simple courtesy; literally almost all of their problems would vanish with the police if they did.
Now innocent people are going to have to suffer from looting, arson, violence, and stupidity because one guy wanted to pretend he was tough.
