The political compass is leftist crap. It uses two dichotomies with a big imaginary area. Trichotomies are better, such as fascist/communist/capitalist or progressive/monarchist/anarchist.

If the political compass axes must be unchanged, just make it a diagonal from authleft to libright; libleft and authright don't exist in the real world
