when I was living in Kansas where we had "The Electric Company" (KG&E at the the time). If you had a problem, billing dispute, or other issues, too damn bad since they were the only game in town.

I remember when I lived in KC a few years ago, my bill had a $100 addition because residents were subsidizing the utility for whatever reason they claimed. No choice
