It's like people have watched Law & Order: SVU and take it for reality. The woman never lies, any male who wants due process is just looking to harm their victim and get away with it and that's the case 100% of the time - therefore, remove due process, #BelieveAllWoman, etc.
We just need to ignore the vast multitude of women who lie. They lie because they're stupid and young, they lie because they're immature, they lie because they lied at the time and don't want to say so, they lie to hide the truth, they lie because they don't want family and friends to know the truth, and about a hundred other reasons. In other words: they're human beings, with all the virtues and vices human beings are capable of.
I can understand the desire of those who advocate against this kind of thing though. The same applies to men. If you're a guy, and you're guilty of what you're accused of, I bet most of them would use any legal trick in the book the get off the hook - no matter how slimy and dirty and awful it is. No one wants to go to jail, even if they're fully aware they committed a crime.
The best answer we have is still due process. I wonder what the advocates citing possible trauma would say if we removed all the advantages women had in divorce proceedings if men argued that they would incur too much trauma from the proceedings and imbalanced system where they're seen as perpetrators and walking wallets to be drained for decades? Certainly men have committed suicide over this, how callous can they be, etc. etc.
You can make all kinds of appeals to emotion, for both genders, in every situation - but only if you see both of them as y'know, individual human beings and not representatives of their sex in a tribal war.
Law & Order: SVU?....OH you mean the Olivia Benson show. Did you know she's a child of rape? Of course you do because SHE TELLS YOU EVERY FUCKING EPISODE!!!
Yeah, I used to like that show until it became all about her.
