Don't forget Bethesda and retailers desperately trying to unload copies of FO76
Short version is that after FO76 turned out to be terrible at launch, retailers started dropping the price after a week or two. Couple months after release, at least some retailers were just giving it away similar to what the story above sounds like.
I remember I was at GameStop on the Saturday of the week it was released and a guy got into a fight with his grandfather who told him not to get it or he would disconnect the internet and everyone was telling him it was a bad game. He bought it and opened it on the counter. ?
At least with FO76 that makes since, live games need a player base. The same isn’t true for single player games.
This is just sad.
It’s the case of overshipment. The Neil Druckmann boot lickers will point to the 4 million sales, but they don’t realize that the vast majority of those sales were preorders and folks who were unaware of the leaked plot.
Now that several non-access media reviews (e.g. Jeremy Jahns, SomeOrdinaryGamers, Jim Sterling, AngryJoe, Upper Echelon Gaming, Skill Up) are out, I would guess that sales slowed down quicker than expected.
Get fucked sony. nobody wants your agenda pushing bullshit.
Retarded story aside, the game was a huge drop in level design from the previous Naughty Dog games. It's so damn linear. I'm not sure if it's because they fucked up on the level design or if it's a conscious design to make the levels linear so as to accommodate blind gamers (which I can understand).
All that nonsense about Seattle being as large and explorable as the wide linear areas of Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy is a lie. Another thing was that the game is so damn boring. It was not a fun game to play. It had some nice bits like the museum bit, the guitar mini game and "Take On Me" but all the good stuff is too far and few between.
I'm not a big fan of the series but the first game is a lot better than the second game. Some aspects of the game design are also pared back like being unable to swap between bottles and bricks like you can do in the first game. Doesn't make sense.
Pacing is just awful...
lol the game sucks and they still have 2million copies laying around.
