I don't begrudge the dad forgiving the murderer. I don't begrudge the dad recognizing the grief of the muderer's family. Forgiveness isn't a weapon to be wielded.
What I do dislike is his trying to justify and downplay the actions of a murderer. A murderer who killed his own son.
There's zero repentance. He's lying saying it was self defence, claiming he dindu nuffin. There's no need for Christians to tolerate or forgive unrepentant sin.
