The silly part is that most of russian "culture" people are, to put it simply, leftist and thus strictly anti-Putin and all that entails. So western people cancelling them is nothing but backstabbing their allies, lol.

But then, it's not like west ever gave much fucks about minor technicalities of their foreign policies. Russian = Bad is much easier to follow.
