Yeah, the Switch version lacks the major tech problems (like severe lag around lightning) of the WiiU but the Sheikah Slate is literally just the WiiU Gamepad. Like you'll have access to your map and many of your functions just on the little screen between the buttons instead of it being part of the game UI. It is by far the best way to play the game and is a great proof of concept for the WiiU's functionality if fully realized.
It just came far too late to save the console and that functionality was highly limited if the entire game wasn't built to support it. And even then it could fail like Star Fox Zero did.
I absolutely hate the game itself, but the WiiU version using the gamepad is a legitimately solid experience for just how well it does work for what its trying to do.
