According to Anderson, that's actually code for: "I'm not attracted to you, but you're my friend and I don't want to hurt your feelings."

Which itself is actually code for "I'm not attracted to you, but you have resources and utility I can extract from you for my benefit, and I don't want to lose access to that just yet by blowing you off"
