High schools often report GPA (grade point average) on a 4.0 scale. The top grade is an A, which equals 4.0
I was pretty much sitting around 3.2 most of my highschool experience, maybe i would have actually done something with my life if I actually had tried. I never studied and I always did homework last second. Some weird ass reason I always had kids asking me for help or trying to copy my work.
I remember very vividly this guy slapping me on the back my freshman year and thanking me because he copied my answers for his 8th grade proficiency test. I was flabbergasted lmao.
It's mostly just for class standing - who's valedictorian and what not. Transcripts are still sent to colleges, not that it matters nowadays as shown in countless college rejection videos starring brilliant white kids.
4.4 gpa.
The schools I went to only went to 4 lol.

Advanced courses gain an extra point so that someone with a B in AP Calculus 2 isn't outscored by someone with an A in remedial algebra.
So someone with a B in normal algebra gets outscored by someone with an A in arithmetic (or an extra gym class instead of study hall).
What a retarded system.
Back in our day we had to send a full transcript, but I guess college admissions are too dumb now to factor in strength of schedule.
