...I think you've hit on something pretty important here... sacrificing for an idea is a pretty normal thing, because the implication is the idea in question will lead to a better world for the next generation, the kids will enjoy the fruits of the labor that went into making that idea a reality. Even the community itself is a concept originally developed by our more ancient forebears to produce, raise, and instruct children in a safer environment than the wildernesses that were all about them at the time.
The problem is the left has become so obsessed with their ideological projects, that they've turned that paradigm on its head, and are instead sacrificing the next generation to protect the idea.
And while that may work for people devoted to the cause, it disgusts and enrages anyone who hasn't already drunk the kool-aid, including a lot of normies who may have otherwise gone along passively with what they have in mind.
Put simply, those covering up and excusing the grooming gang scandal haven't so much crossed a rubicon, they've tripped over it and thought it was a humble mud puddle.
