The thing is, when he's not on his favorite subjects, he almost sounds sane and reasonable. I generally expect people who are crazy to be obviously unhinged, and he isn't. That is why I also believed that he could be reached. Now I just talk with him because I find him entertaining.

Oh, I believe you. I guess it's not exactly surprising, because it's the logical conclusion of what he advocates for - but I and many others have called him out on this, and he normally just refuses to address it.

That said, at the risk of also being nuts, looking at the present state of the world, I would mind human extinction less...
