Clearly this woman doesn’t know how Christianity works. First rule of Christian marriage, don’t go into it unequally yoked. You don’t get it passed down via blood, it’s a personal commitment to follow Jesus as savior. I’m very surprised that this young man would have even entertained the thought of dating a non Christian woman. If I were him I’d be hesitant of marrying either a Catholic or Protestant woman as well.
I’m not Catholic or Orthodox, but to my understanding some of the differences between how each denomination views the Trinity may be too large a gap for some individuals. Either way, I think it’s best to marry within your denomination or ones that are closely related with no major or even medium theological differences.
