Got some spare time and needed a break from the sodium distribution from the return of the American Emperor so thought I'd share some stuff I've been reading.
But unlike doing lists like in the past, I want you to say if theres a genre or story type you're interested in reading and I'll see if I can recommend you something good. Like if you want a story on revenge, regression, fantasy, sci fi, comedy, that has great art etc and I'll try to include how often it is updated or if it's completed.
A bit of disclosure, I don't really read romance, horror or slice of life so might need to ask others on that.
Got any suggestions for the technological gap trope?
Examples that I've read and include what I'm talking about are like Gate, Summoned Japan, Zipang, and Gargantia. Drop a character or group into a technogically inferior area and let it play out.
Got one that might fit that bill that you haven't mentioned, though it's longer, a Manhua (Chinese) and a lot longer time to get going:
Release that Witch: ongoing infrequent release: our MC wakes up in the body of a prince who's at the bottom of the pecking order, in a nation on the brink of a succession crisis, in a border town that every winter is ravaged by demonic beasts and at the moment a witch (women who have magical gifts) is about to be executed as dictated by the powerful Church. He decides immediately to secretly save the witch who can control fire and instead employs her to use her powers to help advance the technology of his region using his knowledge to gain more power and influence.
It's a slower burn but it's interesting how he utilises the modern scientific knowledge he has now and the magic these witches have to advance his region like quickly advancing to guns, artillery and even warships.
