That's a problem with any form of collectivism.
Natural matriarchies have a single female in control.
Like patriarchies she is a target within her clan amongst other females and the strongest one wins. They fight but the fighting tends to be distributed across several members and periods of time. They often start due to underhanded tactics by one competitor or the other.
In any case, the main function is not group order, but breeding order. The comparable ape societies are not collectivist in any way beyond this and breaks to the ordering are common due to internal power dynamics.
It's actually interesting. Unlike what happens when several modern women gather and try to establish social order but without any mating dynamic to drive behaivor or goals.
