Yeah, Kuro’s also one of the only people where telling his old fans to fuck off was actually useful.
For those who don’t know, Kuro was formerly Mysta Rias of Nijisanji EN’s first all-male wave, Luxiem, which was known for a few of its Vtubers, especially Vox Akuma, doing “boyfriend effect” (BFE) content. Kuro hated it and that’s a large chunk of why he left, and has said repeatedly that if the reason you liked him was because of BFE stuff and these parasocial situations that it causes, you can stop watching him and fuck off.
His audience is still massive, which is why it worked, because Nijisisters are toxic minority.
Matara Kan was formerly Nina Kosaka of Nijisanji EN’s third wave, Ethyria, and the reason people there hated her so much is because she dared hang out with Luxiem and interrupt the delusion of the members of Luxiem being in relationships with their audience. Hololive has people who hate inter-gender interactions, which is a holdover of Asian idol culture, but nowadays it’s a lot more toned down and shunned by Holo fans, whereas that’s literally all that’s left of Nijisanji’s fanbase.
I just wish that the rest of Dokibird’s wave graduates soon, but who knows, people are waiting out their contracts at this point.
