Hawaii has a tourist problem. It's a real problem and the reason why I didn't stay in the state after 3 years there. A gallon of milk at $5 just isn't sustainable. When I lived there 10 years ago it was $5, and a part of what convinced me to move away. The price is now closer to $10. Yes, wages are low, and any tech or better paying jobs are discouraged.
