Most of the prior live action remakes got a marginal amount of controversy prior. Like, if they had some big element blow up it was just that single one (black Ariel, Will Smith Genie, gays in Beauty and the Beast) and there was enough other high production value to distract everyone else with and keep it down to just us shouting about it.
This one has had every single pre-release piece cause controversy. Not once was there a "at least X looks good" to pick from. Not Snow White, not the Dwarves, not any of the interviews.
And unlike the rest, which were mostly from the 90s and thereby could use the "nostalgia goggles" defense on people's childhoods, this one is an American Landmark that literally everyone knows by heart and has a far more "sacred" reputation around its history.
The truly picked the worst possible one to go full woke on.
The Disney empire was basically built on this movie.
You think it was a mistake? See your comment above about been an American landmark. Maybe they wanting to go full woke was fully intended - they left can only destroy. However, they did not account for that insufferable bitch to put her foot in her mouth every time she had a microphone in front of her.
Yeah... fuck niggariel. /spit
Yes, because the Woke only exists if it is capable of slipping into the minds of the mainstream without resistance. It seems offensive to us because we are poised to notice it, but the majority of people are not.
If the majority of people put up a wall against it, it fails to make its mark as propaganda and destruction of culture.
Unlike most here, I don't think the Elites in all these industries are Godlike omniscient with ultra complex webs through everything. They simply have absurd power levels that make their every step reverberate and their slips still shake things up. So its almost certain they expected this to just carry on like all the previous Live Actions did and make an easy billion dollars and then fade into obscurity.
