Not a scientist™, but bullets do go over the speed of sound, so sonic booms can form. Regardless, I think this shouldn't be taken too literally. Whether the drum itself burst (I don't even think so), this prediction was still fairly spot-on, for such things.
As I've said elsewhere in this post, I'm not trying to sway people one way or the other. But if you do believe in psychics/prophets/mediums/whatever, there's obviously a disconnect between whoever is sending the message (Gods, angels, spirits, whatever), and what how the messenger says it. He stumbled over "ear drum" a little, it might not have been what he meant.
Again, I'm really not trying to say one way or the other, just offering another explanation. He didn't have to be 100% spot on for this still to be an interesting prediction.
