You're painting fucking asphalt, not a fucking car. These people never done any physical labor in their lives, and it shows.
Yeah, you don't put clearcoat on a sidewalk. If it was, the rest of the paint would look dull, and you'd see the shine as he rolled it. base coat paint has no gloss, the clear adds it.
