IMHO yes. Normies trust the system because seeing the corruption surrounding the judge, the DOJ and the Dems would shatter their blissfully ignorant worldview.

It matters because the jail time. The one dems want is bust until all appeal options are exhausted
Normies have had the lowest trust in government and its systems in recent years. Especially in nyc where you can get fucked for stopping shoplifters.
