I ain’t watching this but I’ll say the problem with allegory is that it always proves the “bigots” correct. There’s no way in hell a teenaged Jean grey wouldn’t become a horrible sex pest on high school. She’ll mind control the girl she’s jealous of into overeating, make whatever guy she fancies worship her, and make teachers do lewd things for fun. Imagine a super strong teen wrestling your own kid, or suddenly the guy who shoots spikes sneezes and murders his class.

True blood is even worse. Every vampire is an ageless murderer who can mind control people. Proving consent is impossible when it comes to sex. Even the “good vampires” murder people or done so in the past, yet not liking them and seeing them as a threat is bad because gay people.
