Dude is king but they are about to kill his legacy with Kingdom Come: Deliverance II going the way of Mafia III.
It is going to be a multi-ethnic medieval world set in Bohemia and anyone not liking it is a bigot.
Nobody had a problem with Mafia III's protagonist, gang culture starting to integrate into the wider social themes of those times were appropriate and the success of GTA: San Andreas showed that there was a big market for games rich in downtrodden criminal types finding themselves in a story arc which took out bad guys. The game itself though was repetitive and lacking any imaginative depth in its world.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II though has very little, to no, reason for racial inclusion of folks in a real world at the time setting and any intention to try it has to be in a tribal conflict setting, or at least have derogatory slurs towards the new-coming outsiders - which will, of course, not be met favourably by those who comment but never buy regardless on such matters.
Still, 3 great games under his belt and he stepped away just fine. Good for him!
I didn't see the diversity in the KCD2 trailer. Where are you seeing it?
Kotaku had a piece out on it which was discussed on Hypnotic last night (28 mins and 25 seconds if the timestamp in the link isn't working).
Nothing concrete but it looks like ESG/DEI funding rather than crowdsourced which is causing come caution with those who have seen it before.
I’m not going to believe Kotaku. At this point I think it’s safe to assume it’s just fud. A smear from leftists still mad about the first game. The first game was diverse, it had Hungarians, Germans, Cumans, Czechs, etc. For now I will assume that is what the developers mean when they say KCD2 will be diverse. BTW you are playing right into the leftist’s hands by amplifying this fud.
