If true, I stand corrected. The reasoning does make sense - to me the Custodes are an irrelevancy, but if you're a commie outsider then you just want to grab whatever has the biggest numbers and with the Emperor and the Primarchs off limits that leaves the Custodes as the next biggest prize.

The Emperor and the Primarchs off-limits... For now. It'll just take some warp hazard with Slaanesh to trannify Leman Russ, or Tzeentch decides Magnus the Red needs to represent monthly flows, and he becomes Magna the Red.
